“It’s going to be purposeful.”
The Boys stars Erin Moriarty and Karen Fukuhara have teased a crossover with spin-off series Gen V.
The offshoot follows a group of aspiring superheroes as they train at the Godolkin University School of Crimefighting, with the action taking place at the same time as the upcoming fourth season of the main show.
The debut season saw several appearances from The Boys’ characters, with Homelander (Anthony Starr) and Billy Butcher (Karl Urban) making cameos in the finale, and Moriarty and Fukuhara have teased the prospect of their characters appearing on the spin-off.
“Yes, I’ve already talked to [showrunner Eric] Kripke about it,” Fukuhara told The Direct. “I don’t know how, but I think Frenchie and Kimiko need to make an appearance somehow. I mean, they must be on a mission somewhere in that world, right?”
“Hell yes, I would love to be in [Gen V],” added Moriarty, who plays Starlight. “Eric is going to sprinkle in those characters [but] not just to get people to watch it. It’s never going to be arbitrary – it’s going to be purposeful.”
“I just hope that some characters follow suit, perhaps with either the vigilante component and sticking it to the man or something Starlight-esque where they [rebel] in a similar way,” she said.
“I want to stay in this universe, in some iteration. I’d stay in it forever. But I think there would be a cool way to enter it when the time is right for our kind of presence in that world,” she added.
Gen V isn’t the only spin-off in the franchise, with The Boys: Mexico recently being confirmed. Plot details are understandably scarce, though Diego Luna, Gael García Bernal and Gareth Dunnet-Alcocer are all set to be involved in some capacity.
