The Boys season 4’s new marketing materials set up a Homelander presidential run, hinting at Victoria Neuman’s true season 4 villain plan.
The Boys season 4 has started to hint at what the show’s story could be about, setting up a terrifying Homelander and Victoria Neuman twist. Although Homelander is the main antagonist of The Boys, Victoria Neuman has begun setting herself up as a terrifying adversary, with The Boys season 3 and the spinoff series Gen V portraying Victoria Neuman as the franchise’s true puppet master. Now, the marketing materials for The Boys season 4 show that her role is set to get even bigger, hinting at what the terrifying twist involving her relationship with Homelander could be.
The Boys season 4 is almost here, with the highly anticipated continuation of the beloved Amazon Prime Video superhero series releasing in June 2024. The next batch of episodes is set to build off of The Boys season 3’s horrifying ending, which concluded with Homelander realizing that the rabid fanbase he has amassed will continue to support him no matter what he does. However, Victoria Neuman has been the most powerful figure in his way so far, but The Boys season 4 is already setting up how the duo can fix their respective supe problems together.
The Boys Season 4’s Marketing Sets Victoria Neuman Up As Homelander’s VP
The Boys season 4 has released some new posters, with this marketing material further cementing that Victoria Neuman could become Homelander’s Vice President in the upcoming batch of episodes. It is heavily speculated that The Boys season 4 will see Homelander run for president, with the marketing materials featuring allusions to this, such as a political campaign poster featuring Homelander and the slogan “Make America Super Again.” It seems almost guaranteed that season 4 will feature this story, but Homelander isn’t the only supe running for office, as Victoria Neuman may be running by his side.
When Victoria Neuman was last seen, the undercover supe was running for the vice presidency alongside presidential candidate Robert Singer, with her being picked for the VP role after the mysterious death of Lamar Bishop. However, The Boys season 4’s posters also feature a poster for Neuman that looks nearly identical to Homelander’s, hinting that they are running together. Another poster shows Homelander with his arm around Neuman as red, white, and blue confetti falls, with this possibly being a hint at Neuman’s announcement that she will be switching to run with Homelander in season 4.
The Boys Season 3 Already Proved That Homelander & Neuman Are Working Together
Although the antagonism between Homelander and Victoria Neuman may seem like a barrier to them being running mates, The Boys season 3 already proved that Homelander and Neuman are working together. Near the end of the season, Neuman gives Homelander Ryan’s location, and in return, Homelander kills Singer’s other VP pick. Although the duo still dislike each other, their transactional relationship shows that they are willing to work together for the betterment of both of their goals, something that may continue if Neuman becomes Homelander’s pick for VP.
Neuman’s twist betrayal of Stan Edgar for Homelander further cements this idea, and using this story could make The Boys‘ political commentary even better. Tons of presidents and vice presidents have been rivals before running together, with Joe Biden and Kamala Harris famously having some tense back and forths at debates before the duo decided to run together. Although The Boys doesn’t typically mention real-life political figures, the show often heavily alludes to them, and this arc could continue this trend.
What Is Victoria Neuman’s True Plan In The Comics?
The Boys is a show that has frequently departed from the source material, but looking at the original stories can hint at the framework that season 4 might be working within. In the comics, Victoria Neuman (instead named Victor Neuman) becomes vice president under Robert Singer. However, Robert Singer is killed in an incident caused by Neuman, leading to Neuman being sworn in as president. However, Neuman is later killed by Homelander, ending his time in office.
The Boys season 4’s Victoria Neuman has already departed from her comic book counterpart in some big ways, so it wouldn’t be a stretch for her to ditch Singer and join Homelander’s campaign. The various marketing materials are already heavily hinting at this, setting the stage for this change to the source material. Either way, it seems almost guaranteed that Victoria Neuman will end up as the Vice President of the United States in The Boys season 4, but having her do it alongside Homelander is the scariest option.
