ด้าน ดิโอโก โชตา เผยถึงเพื่อนร่วมทีมลิเวอร์พูลว่า “หลุยส์ ดิอาซ อยู่กับเราที่โรงแรม จากนั้นเขาก็กลับบ้าน มันเป็นสถานการณ์ที่ยากลำบากมาก และผมไม่รู้ว่าใครจะมีปฏิกิริยาอย่างไรหากเกิดขึ้นกับคุณ”
“เขากำลังจะลงเล่น แต่กลายเป็นผมที่ได้เล่นแทนเขา ผมจึงชูเสื้อของเขาเพื่อแสดงให้เห็นว่าเราอยู่เคียงข้างเขา และเราหวังว่าทุกอย่างจะผ่านไปด้วยดี มันเป็นไปไม่ได้เลยที่จะคิดว่าสถานการณ์เช่นนี้จะเกิดขึ้น เราแค่ส่งกำลังใจถึงเขาและแสดงให้เขาเห็นว่าเราอยู่ข้างๆ เขา”
