After sharing the entire procedure on Instagram, pop sensation JoJo Siwa made her tattoo debut on Sunday to her following of over 11.2 million users.
Following her playful remarks about accompanying her closest friends, Raven-Symoné and her spouse Miranda Maday, to enhance their own tattoo collections, the 20-year-old Dance Mom former cast member disclosed that she will be getting a “meaningful” tattoo.
Despite being’scared’ at first and not knowing what typeface to choose, the Boomerang singer finally made the decision to get the numbers ‘1031’ behind her ear.
The celebrity called her mother, Jessicalynn, just before getting inked, and her mother made a funny reminder to her daughter to “make sure they put the numbers in the right order.”
Siwa later clarified the meaning of the numbers by stating that she was born in 2003 and that this was “how many days” her “first concert tour lasted.”
Exciting: After chronicling the entire process on Snapchat, pop sensation JoJo Siwa showed her first tattoo to her more than 11.2 million Instagram followers on Sunday.
First tattoo: The Dance Mom alum, 20, announced she would be getting a “meaningful” tattoo after joking that she would be joining her two closest friends, Raven-Symoné and her wife Miranda Maday, as they grew their own tattoo collections.Siwa teased, “I can’t say why yet, but three is a very significant number.”
Maday shared a monochromatic photo of Siwa lying down on the tattoo table with artist Khaliq “Liq” finishing up the basic artwork.
“Bb’s [baby’s] first tattoo,” she captioned the photo, then revealed two small hearts tattooed on her bicep.
Siwa said earlier in the day in a string of Snapchat pictures that at first she was just going to watch and encourage her friends while they received tattoos.
But as everyone knows, my goal is to have 1031 placed behind my right ear. I’ve been aware of it for a very long time,” she said. I’ve been aware of it for a while. Maybe this is my day. I’m not sure. Maybe I will. I could really pull it off.
“Raven and Miranda are convinced that I’m going to do it,” she went on. I want to do it, I’m 99 percent sure about it. Simply put, I can’t decide on a typeface.
Siwa grew increasingly confident that she would go with having her first tattoo as time went on.
Siwa and Symoné took part in P&G and iHeartMedia’s Can’t Cancel Pride 2023 event last month, although it’s unknown how long they have been friends.
After some hesitation and being “scared,” the Boomerang singer finally chose to have the digits “1031” placed behind her ear.
Sweet: The celebrity contacted her mother Jessalynn just before getting her tattoo, and she made a humorous reminder for her daughter to “make sure they put the numbers in the right order.”
Significance: Afterwards, Siwa clarified the numbers’ meaning by stating that they represented “the number of days” her “first concert tour lasted” and her birth year of 2003.
“Three is an important number, but I’m not sure why just yet,” Siwa made fun of
Siwa revealed earlier this year that she first realized she was gay when visiting Disney World with her friend Kylie Prew, whom she had met on a cruise in 2020.
The reality TV personality talked about how she has “grown a lot at Disney,” while also remembering some “really fun” and “really hard memories” at the well-known theme park in Orlando, Florida.
It was at Disney World that I fell in love for the first time. At Disney World, I came to terms with my sexual orientation. At Disney World, I went through phases of heartbreak. Disney World has truly contributed to a lot of things in my personal life,’ she told People.
The music sensation, who will make her debut in January 2021, talked about her two-week trip to the Happiest Place on Earth with her brother Jayden Siwa and his fiancée, Prew.
After spending valuable time and enjoying exciting roller coasters, the Boomerang hitmaker admitted that she’realized’ she had feelings for Prew.
Maday uploaded a black and white snap of Siwa laying on the tattoo table while artist Khaliq ‘Liq,’ completed the simplistic design.
Hesitant: Earlier in the day, Siwa revealed in a series of Snapchat posts that she was initially just going to watch and support her friends as they got tattoos
‘However, we all know I want to get 1031 behind my right ear. I’ve known it for a long time,’ she explained. ‘I’ve known it for a long time. Today might be my day. I don’t know. I might do it. I really might do it’
‘Having all those feelings while just being in the most magical place in the world and the happiest place on Earth was so cool,’ Siwa gushed. ‘We’re not together anymore, but we did have some really fun, happy memories here.’
The dancer reminisced on the ‘tension of riding every ride, sitting next to each other, walking around the park like my brother and his girlfriend because we thought it was funny,’
‘But really, we both just wanted to hold hands. Those memories just make my heart so happy,’ Siwa recalled.
The performer and Prew, 18, most recently broke up last summer after rekindling their romance after following their split in 2021.
During their separation, the social media sensation had a short-lived relationship with TikToker Avery Cyrus.
In August 2022, Prew confirmed they called it quits during a live video posted to TikTok, in which she told her followers: ‘Someone asked me, just now, if I was single. I am. I been single for almost two months.’
‘It’s OK, it’s not deep, I promise. Everything’s fine. Not everything has to be messy and gross. Because it’s not. And I just wanted to clear the air,’ the influencer said.
She added: ‘We’re both safe and happy and healthy and that’s all that matters. It doesn’t need to be drama because that just gives everyone unwanted anxiety, especially if they’re like me.’
Earlier this year, Siwa recalled discovering her sexuality on a trip to Disney World with her then-friend Kylie Prew, who she first on a cruise in 2020 (seen above with her ex last year)
Past love: While reflecting on some ‘really fun’ and ‘really hard memories’ at the popular theme park in Orlando, Florida, the reality star detailed how she has ‘grown a lot at Disney’ (seen with Prew in 2021)
In a bid to make their relationship work, Siwa said she and Prew set ‘new boundaries’ to make it work.
‘We’re still learning things, setting new boundaries, releasing boundaries… all the normal things,’ she told People last year.
In January 2021, JoJo came out as a member of the LGBTQ+ community and talked about Kylie and conversation about defining and unpacking her sexuality in an April interview.
‘I still don’t know what I am. It’s like, I want to figure it out. And I have this joke. Her name is Kylie. And so I say that I’m Ky-sexual,’ she told People.
At the time she also gushed: ‘She [Kylie] never cares what the internet said about us,’ as she spoke about acclimating to being publicly out. ‘It’s nice to have somebody in my life like that.’
