50 Cent amazes London audience with surprise appearance by Ed Sheeran
Tuesday, November 21, marked the end of Fif’s UK leg of the tour. He may have saved the best for last, as Sheeran played his diamond-certified hit song “Shape of You” at the o2 Arena in London.
Together with Eminem, 50 Cent and Ed Sheeran collaborated on the 2019 single “Remember the Name.” The two had been dating for a few years.
One of the Top 10 most streamed artists on Spotify and one of Britain’s best-selling acts, Sheeran later acknowledged that he believed 50 Cent didn’t know who he was when they collaborated on the song.
At the height of Shady Records and Aftermath [Entertainment], if you were to walk into my school and ask, “Which one of these kids is gonna do a song with Eminem and 50 Cent?” He made a joke during an appearance on Hot Ones, saying, “No one would’ve guessed me.”
I don’t think 50 had the slightest idea who I was, and I know that 50 will probably disagree with this. He was probably thinking, “Oh, the ‘Shape of You’ guy,” afterward.
“At the John Mayer concert in Los Angeles right now, Ed Sheeran Killing it! BOOM,” 50 agreed, writing.
