Emma Stone’s Reaction to Seeing Her Ex Andrew Garfield at Her ‘Poor Things’ Premiere Is Going Viral
Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield are friendly exes, and the public got a glimpse of that dynamic in a new video from her Poor Things premiere in London. Garfield attended, and another guest filmed video of Stone spotting him in the audience and posted it to X. She appeared to excitedly point toward him while exiting the theater with her co-stars. See the clip here.
Another video surfaced of Stone’s co-star Mark Ruffalo walking over to Garfield and the two hugging.
Some fans compared it to the end of La La Land, while others admired the sweetness of the moment and their enduring friendship.

Stone and Garfield dated for four years before breaking up for good in October 2015. Stone went on to get married to comedian and writer Dave McCary, whom she met in 2016. McCary and Stone welcomed a daughter in March 2021.
Garfield confirmed in January 2022 that he and Stone were still good friends while discussing Spider-Man: No Way Home on the Happy Sad Confused podcast.
“Emma kept on texting me,” he said. “She was like, ‘Are you in this new Spider-Man film?’ And I was like, ‘I don’t know what you’re talking about!’ She was like, ‘Shut up, just tell me,’ And like, I honestly… I kept it going, even with her, it’s hilarious. And then she saw it and was like, ‘You’re a jerk!’”
He spoke previously to Vanity Fair in 2017 about their relationship and being on the award season circuit together for separate projects. They were pals, he said, so it was anything but awkward. “It’s been wonderful because we care about each other so much, and that’s a given, that’s kind of this unconditional thing. And there’s so much love between us and so much respect.”
He then made it clear that he ardently supports her career, something that’s all the more evident now: “I’ll speak for myself: You know, I’m her biggest fan as an artist. I’m constantly inspired by her work. I’m constantly inspired by how she handles and holds herself. So for me, I’ve—it’s been bliss to be able to watch her success and watch her bloom into the actress that she is. And it’s also been wonderful to have that kind of support for each other. It’s nothing but a beautiful thing.”
