The most recent The Conjuring 4 news comes from Patrick Wilson himself, who was asked if he would direct the new Conjuring movie following his directorial debut, 2023’s Insidious: The Red Door. However, while he’s clearly well-versed in horror, Wilson is hesitant to direct The Conjuring 4. The actor and director explained, “I wouldn’t dare try to pitch myself for something I didn’t feel passionate about. So the honest-to-God truth, and I really mean this, and it sounds so lame, but I would have to see the story.” Wilson revealed that he is acting on the advice given to him by James Wan; “it’s what James told me, which is, “Make it yours. Make it personal.”
The Conjuring 4 has been greenlit, but there’s no known The Conjuring: Last Rites release date yet. There was a three-year gap between the first and second Conjuring movies and a five-year gap between the second and The Devil Made Me Do It. It can be expected that The Conjuring 4 might take a similar amount of time, and it could be released sometime in 2024 or 2025.
