Hollywood superstar Scarlett Johansson has unwittingly become the new face of porn after a đť‘ eđť‘Ąy image of herself was used to promote a đť‘ eđť‘Ą shop.
The Lost In Translation actress’ photo has been used to advertise a store in Calexico, on the Californian-Mexican border called VIP.
Controversial: A đť‘ eđť‘Ą shop on the Mexican border has used an image of Scarlett on its business cards
On business cards for the shop Scarlett is seen seductively sitting on a floor.
She appears in a white shirt which is left open to show off her black bra and cleavage as she pouts at the camera with her blonde locks in a tousled bob.
The cards promote the sale of ‘DVD & VHS’, as well as ‘lubricantes’, while the store sells everything from đť‘ eđť‘Ą toys to lotions.
But despite using the Hollywood actress’ image for their promotional material, the owners appeared oblivious as to why it would be a problem opting for Scarlett’s photo for the cards.
The manager told TMZ.com: ‘What does this have to do with the business card?
‘I don’t know who Scarlett Johansson is. The owner ordered cards from a company and said we need something with a girl on the card and the company did it.’
His comments make it unclear whether they are aware they’ve done anything wrong by using the image.
The actress has previously spoken of her concern when nude photos she’d sent to her then husband Ryan Reynolds were leaked online.
She told Stylist at the time: ‘It was really terrible; I felt absolutely violated. I wasn’t really aware of how vulnerable all of us are, but I think everybody is just discovering that now.
‘Being hacked made me feel more vulnerable than I ever had previously.’
But she seems to have brushed off the use of her image on the đť‘ eđť‘Ą shop business cards.
A statement from the star released to the Mail Online said: ‘I applaud TMZ’s, once again, award winning investigative journalism for securing the knowledge of my legions of Mexican fans’.
She’s not the only star to recently have had her image used to promote a business along the border of Mexico.
A đť‘ eđť‘Ąy image of the star was used to promote goods including ‘DVD & VHS’, as well as ‘lubricantes’, but the shop manager insisted he didn’t know who she was
Reality TV star Kim Kardashian has reportedly threatened to sue after a photo of her was used to promote plastic surgery.
The 32-year-old reality TV star is said to have asked her lawyers to get involved after a billboard for Dr. Victor Ramirez in Mexicali emerged showing her reclining on a sunbed in a bikini which showed off her enviable body.
The billboard was accompanied with the slogan ‘No arriesgue su belleza, ni su salud’, which translates as ‘Don’t risk your beauty or your health’ – a bid to encourage people to visit a professional plastic surgeon instead of an unsafe one.
