The incident occurred ahead of his son’s undisputed heavyweight showdown with Usyk on Saturday (May 18).
It’s not entirely clear what was said to provoke the clash although Fury Sr claims the team member he headbutted, Stanislav Stepchuk, was disrespecting his son.
Fury had been carrying out his media obligations elsewhere in the hotel when the quarrel broke out and walked into the room chanting and dancing, completely unaware of what had happened.
His excitement quickly turned to shock when he met eyes with his father.
Fury stopped and pointed at his dad before appearing to say: “What’s happened to your head you silly c***?”
The room then erupted into laughter as Fury Sr smiled and joined in to chants of ‘Fury, Fury, Fury’.
Fury Sr has since apologised for the incident, telling Seconds Out: “Sincere apologies to everybody involved to be honest with you.
“It’s just the way we are. Emotions and tensions are running high. He was a very disrespectful fella, wasn’t he?

“If you come close in a fighting man’s space, you’re gonna cop for something, aren’t you?
“People don’t understand we are the real deal as fighters. What matters to me is respect for my son and he wasn’t showing any of it. He mentioned my son and that was it, so he had to have it.
“It doesn’t bother us [the blood]. It’s what we live for, we’re fighting people. That’s a regular occurrence to me.
“With respect Usyk never said a bad word about him. A great champion, probably the second-best heavyweight in the world.
“This is a good little man and I respect him but when they start disrespecting a great champion like The Gypsy King, they’ve got to pay the price.”
