“The house that stands today was built in 1877 and is a wonderful example of Victorian architecture, its rich history having been beautifully preserved,” he said.

Spanning more than 17,000 square feet, the 15-bedroom house offers a charming combination of old and new and a “feeling of grandeur and heritage,” Pagett said. There are features like wood-paneled walls, ornate ceilings and grand fireplaces, alongside a sleek contemporary kitchen with twin kitchen islands, a recently renovated family room and a self-contained two-bedroom apartment.

There’s also a sizable entrance hall, multiple living areas, a study, a games room with an adjoining bar, a gym and two artifact rooms.

Outside, the grounds, which are open to paying public visitors during the spring a couple of days each week, include formal gardens with fountains, terraces, parkland, an 8-acre patch of woodland and plenty of grazing deer.
