Now, another tennis legend has decided to hang their boots; Serena Williams. Yes, the American star, often hailed as the GOAT of tennis, will be ‘evolving away’ from the sport following a second-round defeat to Anett Kontaveit in the ongoing US Open.
Since then, tributes have been pouring in from around the world for Williams, with the seven-time F1 world champion, Hamilton, joining them with a wholesome post on social media.
The Briton poured his heart out in an emotional message to one of his biggest inspirations.

The Mercedes superstar took to Instagram ahead of the Dutch Grand Prix to hail Williams and her astonishing journey in tennis. “Taking a moment before the race today to show my appreciation and gratitude to the greatest of all time, @serenawilliams. We will never see another Serena.”
