Anne Hathaway Reveals Sentimental New Tattoo Honoring Her Husband.

Body artwork can serve as a simple decoration or mark a memorable moment in one’s life. Anne Hathaway’s tattoo makes a strong case for the latter. The actor has a tiny ink of the letter “M” on the inside of her left wrist from around 2010. While fans have long wondered about the inspiration behind her only-known design, she finally decided to let everyone in on the secret.

The “Eileen” star appeared on an episode of “The Drew Barrymore Show” in December 2023 and she revealed the story behind her cryptic “M” tattoo. When host Drew Barrymore asked the actor about the secret to her long-term relationship with her husband of 11 years, Adam Shulman, Hathaway gave an honest answer. “I think it’s a little bit just kind of [the] luck of the draw, but we’re really lucky that we keep growing together,” she said before segueing to couple tattoo she shares with his husband.

“We have this thing, we actually have a tattoo, and the idea is that individually, we’re whole, but together, we’re more,” she added while showing her wrist, which reads “W” in one direction for “whole” and “M” from the other way for “more.” While her ink is located on her left wrist, Shulman’s identical tattoo sits on the inside of his right wrist. “And so I think that it’s just that thing about [how] I don’t expect him to complete me, and I don’t think he expects me to complete him,” she said, “He’s his own person. I’m my own person. And we choose to be together because we believe we make each other better, and this union is something we both want to participate in.”

Hathaway tied the knot with actor and producer Shulman in 2012 and the couple have two sons, Jonathan, 7, and Jack, 4. During her “Late Night With Seth Meyers” appearance that same month, the “Les Misérables” actor shared a heartwarming story about how the pair celebrated their 11th marriage anniversary. Due to the rainy weather in New York, she recounted that they swapped their going-out plans for a cozy night-in. “We kind of like, re-pajamaed,” she said, adding, “You know, I had a moment when I was curled up on his chest and we were watching, like, hour three of ‘Abbott Elementary,’ and I was like, ‘I’m so happy. This is the right guy for me.'”

Their sweet matching tattoo lands them a spot on the long list of celebrity couples who’ve immortalized their love for each other through body artwork, including Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck, Victoria and David Beckham, and more. Get a closer look at Hathaway and Shulman’s couple ink ahead.

PETER HITCHENS: Our deadbeat leaders are marching us towards chaos. Why on earth do we trust them on war in Ukraine?

Do you have confidence in our leaders on tax, health, policing, farming, immigration, sleaze, housing, education or transport? Every single one a bungle, run by deadbeats where they generally achieve the opposite of what they promise. So why trust them on war in Ukraine? Yet here we go again, down the road to chaos. The weaker we get, the louder we shout. How the rest of the world must snigger at our great power posturing in Ukraine last week. They will have laughed especially at how pathetically and quickly we aped the Americans as they went directly into war with Moscow, authorising US Service personnel to guide ATACMS weapons to targets in Russia. As soon as Washington announced this dubious plan, London did the same with our Storm Shadow rockets. These cannot be launched without the direct involvement of British military know-how and American guidance systems.

When Trump is sworn in as the 47th President of the United States, he will have the authority to wipe those cases of the 1,488 people charged in relation to Jan 6.
