Conor McGregor mocks Jake Paul’s ‘garbage’ fight with Nate Diaz… branding it ‘p*** and s*** in a ring’

Irish fighter Conor McGregor delivered a foul-mouthed verdict on the prize fight between Nate Diaz and Jake Paul on Saturday.

Paul defeated the former UFC lightweight fighter Diaz by unanimous decision in a ten round bout in Dallas.

McGregor, who also has boxed before, delivered a scathing review of the events of the night before in a Tweet on Sunday.

Posting an image of him from his August 2017 boxing debut – standing behind a reeling Floyd Mayweather with his hands raised – McGregor captioned the picture, ‘Me watching that garbage last night. Wtf. P*** and S*** in a ring.’

Paul – who has verbally sparred with the Irishman before – seemed to shrug off any suggestions of a fight against McGregor when asked about it after his victory.

Irish MMA fighter & boxer Conor McGregor didn’t view the Jake Paul-Nate Diaz bout favorably

In a post on Twitter, McGregor used vulgar language while calling the fight ‘garbage’

Paul beat Diaz in ten rounds by unanimous decision in the fight taking place in Dallas

Instead, the 26-year-old set his sights on a $10million rematch with Diaz in MMA, and targeted a showdown with pound-for-pound great Canelo Alvarez for his next fight inside the ring.

‘I don’t care about that guy.’ Paul said when asked about facing McGregor.

‘He needs to go to rehab. I want Nate in MMA. I want more professional boxers and I want Canelo.’

A rematch with Diaz inside the cage is plausible. Paul signed a multi-year deal with the PFL earlier this year, combining his future career as a special attraction inside the cage with a role of ‘head of fighter advocacy’ in the promotion.

‘I wanna run it back in MMA,’ Paul told DAZN after defeating Diaz. ‘There’s an offer of $10m PFL (Professional Fighting League).

‘Let’s run it back in MMA – make it fair. I won one, now it’s your chance in home territory – let’s do it.’

Diaz, 38, outlined his desire to take up the offer as he said: ‘Yeah, let’s do it. I want to try and do it.

Outside of his striking experience it is unknown whether Paul has any MMA training, though he does have some experience grappling emanating from his days competing as an amateur wrestler in high school.
