On the May 24 episode of WWE SmackDown, Randy Orton faced Tama Tonga in the semi-finals of the King of the Ring tournament. The winner of the bout would advance to the tournament finals at WWE King and Queen of the Ring.
The two competitors clashed in a heated main event. Orton showcased his veteran expertise, but Tonga overpowered him throughout the bout. Orton rallied, but Tonga grounded him. “The Viper” fired up again and gained momentum with a flurry of offense. Orton slammed Tonga on the broadcast table. Solo Sikoa tried to interfere, but Orton fended him off and hit the RKO for the win.
After the bell, Solo Sikoa attacked Randy Orton, but Kevin Owens made the save.
Orton will face Gunther in the tournament finals at WWE King and Queen of the Ring on May 25.
Tonga previously advanced to the semi-finals by defeating Angelo Dawkins and LA Knight. Orton beat AJ Styles and Carmelo Hayes to punch his ticket to the semi-finals.
