Like father, like son is beginning to take on a whole new meaning in the world of golf as the Woods family prepares for an upcoming father/son tournament.
Tiger Woods spoke to Golf Channel from the Bahamas – where his foundation is running the Hero World Challenge tournament.
At one point during the interview, Woods was asked when he thinks his son would start to outdrive him and his response surprised many watching.
‘It’s already happened. He hit a drive at Medalist and got me by a yard,’ the 15-time major champion said.

Not only is Charlie out hitting his father, but he seems to be taking advice from him as well in how to approach his swing.
‘I told him, don’t copy my swing. Copy Rory’s,’ Woods said. ‘Have you ever seen Rory off balance on a shot? No. Not ever. You can swing as hard as you want on a shot, but you need to have balance.’
It seems to be paying off for Charlie, who swung a club 117 miles per hour according to Golf Channel’s Paul Azinger.

While Tiger is at the Hero World Challenge, he is not competing in the tournament. Despite planning to join the 20-man field, Woods revealed on Monday that he developed plantar fasciitis in his right foot.
‘After consulting with my doctors and trainers, I have decided to withdraw this week and focus on my hosting duties,’ Woods said in a statement.
Woods has not competed at a professional tournament since July, when he missed the cut at The Open Championship at St. Andrews.
Tiger believes he will be healthy to compete in the latest installment of ‘The Match’ taking place next weekend as well as the PNC Championship with Charlie the week after that.
