Margot revealed she would reprise her role as demented doctor Quinn back in September, in an interview with The Hollywood Reporter.
The starlet also confirmed she would produce the Cathy Yan directed film, which revolves around a group of all female supervillains.
Taking to Instagram in November, Margot shared the full name of the film under a snap of the script: Birds of Prey (And The Fantabulous Emancipation of One Harley Quinn).

The film will focus on a group of female superheroes and supervillains, including Mary Elizabeth Winstead and Jurnee Smollett-Bell as Huntress and Black Canary, according to Variety.
Winstead’s boyfriend Ewan McGregor has reportedly been cast as Batman villain Black Mask, Rosie Perez will play Renee Montoya and Ella Jay Basco has been cast as Cassandra Cain.
The film is due for release on February 7, 2020.
It comes two years after Margot played crazed former psychiatrist Harleen Quinzel/ Harley Quinn in the Warner Bros.’ DC Comics film Suicide Squad.
The Australian starlet, who scored her first Oscar nod last year for her role in I, Tonya, made her acting breakthrough in the 2013 film The Wolf of Wall Street after her acting debut in Australian soap Neighbours.
Since then, she has taken on a number of diverse roles including Queen Elizabeth I in the historical drama film Mary Queen of Scots, currently screening in cinemas.
The multi-talented star also launched her own production company in 2014 to find better roles.

She told the Radio Times earlier this month: ‘I wasn’t seeing many scripts where I wanted to play the female role.’

LuckyChap Entertainment, which Margot runs with her director husband Tom Ackerley, produced Margot’s acclaimed I, Tonya and is currently working on a new TV show about the Second World War’s female codebreakers.
