Pamela Anderson, 57, stuns as she goes make-up free in an all-black look at Governors Awards 2024

Pamela Anderson looked radiant in a loose-fitting, long black dress at the 2024 Governors Awards on Sunday evening in Los Angeles.

The 57-year-old former Baywatch star punctuated her modest outfit with understated, round-toe footwear that was nearly covered by her frock.

The mother-of-two, who stars in Gia Coppola’s upcoming drama The Last Showgirl, stuck to her make-up free practice as she bared her glowy, freckled face.

Her signature blonde hair was parted down the middle and pulled into a low ponytail, with loose pieces framing her visage.

In The Last Showgirl, Anderson portrays a veteran performer who must sort her future when her show abruptly wraps after 30 years.

The movie is slated for a January 10, 2025 release and last week a first-look trailer captivated fans and prompted Oscar buzz.

It also stars Jamie Lee Curtis, Brenda Song, Kiernan Shipka, among others.

Anderson has sparked speculation that she will nag a Best Actress Academy Award nod for the role.

Meanwhile, Curtis’ performance was praised as a ‘force of nature’ by Variety critic Peter Debruge.

Deadline’s Pete Hammond said: ‘Anderson is remarkable in this role, which fits her own natural optimism but also gives her the chance to play her emotions laid bare. She will break your heart.’

The review continued, ‘I have always thought she was an underrated comedic actress, based especially on her short-lived 2005 sitcom Stacked, but the dramatic chops have not been there before, certainly not on this scale. And she is all-in here.’

Anderson last acted in the 2017 film adaptation of Baywatch, reprising her iconic role as CJ Parker.

In January 2023 she starred in her Netflix documentary Pamela, A Love Story and she also released her memoir Love, Pamela that month.

At the movie’s premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival in September, Pamela said she’s ‘been getting ready my whole life for this role.’

‘Having a beautiful, messy life is something incredible to draw from, and sometimes I’ll look back on my life and think, I could have done this differently, but you need the life experience to be able to look back and say those things,’ she reflected.

Taking the stage at the Hamilton Behind the Camera Awards days ago, Pamela revealed: ‘After I had almost given up [on acting], Gia Coppola recognized that hunger in me and helped me dust off the cobwebs of a dream I had almost forgotten.’

She credited Coppola with, ‘Reigniting the flame in me. Saving my life. Forever grateful that she cast me as Shelley in The Last Showgirl.’

Anderson added: ‘Gia is the epitome of an actor’s director. I am proud to honor Gia Coppola tonight, who is spearheading the next generation of filmmakers with kindness and style, storytelling with gentle unforgettable grace — so needed in this world.’

Keir Starmer says police should focus on ‘what matters most’ – amid growing anger over police investigation into Allison Pearson’s tweet

Police forces should focus on tackling crime, not policing people’s tweets, Sir Keir Starmer said yesterday. In an apparent climb down, the Prime Minister urged the police to ‘concentrate on what matters most to their communities’, rather than being drawn into investing resources in tackling so-called ‘non-crime hate incidents’. Downing Street backed the police over the controversial practice last week, saying it was ‘important that the police can capture data relating to non-crime hate incidents where it is proportionate and necessary to do so to help prevent serious crimes which may later occur’.
