Throughout her career, Katy Perry’s style has become synonymous with outrageous, eye-catching ensembles that lean towards the theatrical. But lately, the singer has been experimenting with a new aesthetic—one that is as sleek as it is edgy. Whether this is a precursor to an upcoming album drop, or simply a wardrobe revamp to usher in the new season, we’re into it.
The 37-year-old pop icon was seen in New York wearing a chic Western-inspired ensemble this week. The look consisted of a faux leather cropped top, a snakeskin-effect vegan leather coat, and a matching pair of trousers in the same material, all by Rotate Birger Christensen. Perry accessorized the look with a Saint Laurent bolo tie necklace, heart-shaped earrings from Poche, a Yuzefi black leather Tempura bag, and Oliver Peoples translucent shades in burgundy. In keeping with the Western theme, the look was topped off with a funky pair of pink and brown leather ankle boots from Paco Rabanne.
Working with collaborator and stylist Tatiana Waterford has been a breath of fresh air for Perry’s wardrobe.
