Three years after Game of Thrones‘ epic finale, reports surfaced last week that HBO is putting together a sequel series following Kit Harington’s Jon Snow… which was essentially confirmed by his co-star Emilia Clarke.
While Harington hasn’t commented publicly on the project, Clarke, 35, did confirm the project in an interview with BBC.
The actress was promoting her West End stage debut in Anton Chekov’s The Seagull, when she even revealed that Harington is not only starring in the new series, but creating it as well.

‘He has told me about it. And I know it exists. It’s happening,’ Clarke said in her interview.
‘It’s been created by Kit as far as I can understand, so he’s in it from the ground up,’ she added.
‘So what you will be watching, hopefully, if it happens, is certified by Kit Harington,’ she continued.

The original report last week came from The Hollywood Reporter, revealing that Harington is attached to return as Jon Snow, adding the project is in the early stages of development.
That report didn’t indicate, however, that Harington is creating the show himself, nor did it reveal any creative entities behind the project thus far.
While HBO has the upcoming prequel House of the Dragon, set hundreds of years before the show and charting the reign of House Targaryen, this new Jon Snow series would be the first of the network’s many GoT projects that would take place after the series finale.

As for House of the Dragon, which tells the story of her character Daenerys Targaryen’s ancestors and their centuries-long rule over Westeros, Clarke is ‘fascinated’ by the show.
‘It’s going to be weird as hell. I’m going to watch this as a fresh viewer because it’s [set] a be-jillion years before our show, so it’s going to feel different,’ Clarke said.
When asked if she would ever consider reprising her role as Daenerys Targaryen for a Game of Thrones spin-off, Clarke responded, ‘No, I think I’m done.’
