They won the league on the final day of the season following a 2-1 victory over Wimbledon as Paul Ince and Bryan Robson scored the United goals.

They clinched the title by a single point as second-placed Aston Villa were only able to reach 71 points after losing their final game of the season against QPR.

To make the victory of the league even more special, it was the first year of the Premier League since its creation.

Some of the squad have come together for a reunion alongside the Premier League trophy.

Former Red Devil Lee Sharpe shared a picture from the occasion on Twitter.

Alongside the picture was the caption: “Today’s reunion, celebrating 30 years since we won the 1st Premier League not that I feel old 🤣😳 @ManUtd.”

The snap showed the retired stars in two rows of chairs.

The back row included (from left to right) Bryan Robson, Clayton Blackmore, Mike Phelan, Gary Pallister, and Sharpe.

And on the front row (from left to right) there was Brian McClair, Mark Hughes, Denis Irwin and Paul Parker.

Sharpe was important in the title win as he contributed towards ten goals in the season, including three assists in the 3-3 draw against Sheffield Wednesday.

While stars such as Ryan Giggs, Eric Cantona and Peter Schmeichel were absent there was still plenty of United royalty.

One of which is midfielder Robson. The 66-year-old scored 74 league goals for the club in 345 appearances.

Hughes is also another notable character having gone into management after hanging up his boost.

The Welshman had stints at Manchester City, Stoke City and Blackburn Rovers, he is currently in charge of Bradford City.
