The parkour runner, Sergey Shorokhov, misses his jump and falls off high-rise roof, catching himself on electric wires

As adrenaline junkies go, we can all agree that parkour free runners who scale monumental buildings with little more than pure determination and hopeful thinking are an entirely different breed of thrill-seeker.

And this runner proved exactly that after capturing on tape the POV moment when things could have really taken a turn for the worse.

Luckily, the bloke survived to tell the tale with the harrowing bodycam footage being subsequently uploaded to YouTube.

In the clip, the parkour runner can be seen walking on the ledge of a very tall building before pacing round a sharp corner and scarily getting caught up in what appear to be electrical wires.

A stomach-dropping shot shows the moment his foot fails to reach the next ledge

He then totally losing his footing and falls down the side of the building before his quick-fire reflexes kicked in leading him to clutch at the wires for his life as he scrambled up the wall.

The chap fortunately had been going about his antics with a friend who helped him over the ledge to safety and the pair, totally reeling from the whole thing, can then be heard laughing hysterically.

The video has since amassed more than 2.4 million views on the platform with thousands upon thousands of comments.

One YouTube user penned: “I think he finally found that proper adrenaline rush he was looking for.”

That’s one way of putting it.

“Is anyone else impressed at how strong those wires are?” asked a second. “I guess they both messed up his attempt and saved his life at the same time.”

Talk about dual purpose.

A fellow adrenaline junkie chimed in: “As someone who also came close to falling to his death rock climbing, I understand that hysterical laughter at the end when you reach safety.”

‘Hold on’ shouts his friend in Russian as he tries to pull him up, Mr Shorokhov said the electric current was trying to ‘throw me down’

Another echoed: “As someone who’s slipped off the top of a roof into a pool inches away from the concrete, the laughter is relatable.”

“He’s SO lucky his friends were there to save him,” pointed out a fifth. “Imagine if he did this alone…”

The clip has since been shared across other social media platforms with one post going viral after clocking up more than 21.1 million views on X ( formerly known as Twitter).

His hand was also injured in the fall with burns he says have scared him for life

It’s clear the internet couldn’t wait to share their reactions to the terrifying trip, with one user advising: “If you want an adrenaline rush, just go to the gym…”

“Really, it’s simple maths!” joked a second. “The more you f**k around, the more you find out!”

A final user claimed: “One thing is for sure, he won’t do it again.”

Guess we’ll have to wait and see for that one.

Thankfully his friend who is also on the rooftop rushes to his aid, pulling him to safety despite the danger that he could be shocked himself
After the rescue, Mr Shorokhov’s friend Zlat, @goldenzadrot, warns him how close he had been to death
His friend appears more shaken than him by the incident, and tells him ‘You won’t find good friends like me’
At first the freerunner was not sure if he had been cut by the wire or if he had been electrocuted
