They believe this to be the burial site of the god of death, Osiris, the deity of ancient Egypt.

The tomb of Osiris is shrouded in dark black, with meticulously carved square-cut stairs and a vaulted ceiling. Within, there is a prayer hall, a grand corridor, burial chambers, and sculptures and statues of Osiris placed throughout.

In the western corridor, there is a burial chamber with walls adorned with demon-like reliefs and statues of knife-wielding gods, believed to be guardians of the tomb.

Spanish and Italian archaeologists involved in the excavation project reveal that statues of Osiris are found everywhere, including a staircase leading to the underworld and an empty corridor symbolizing the river. Experts have also discovered a burial chamber beneath a statue, which was used to connect the deceased with Osiris.

Heading towards the west-facing corridor of the tomb, there are still two mysterious rooms that archaeologists have yet to fully explore.

According to Egyptian mythology, Osiris is the eldest son of the earth god Geb, ruling over the realm of the dead and also the god who brings life in the form of vegetation and bountiful floods along the Nile River.

He is described as a bearded man wearing a crown with ostrich feathers, and his skin is depicted as green. Osiris is often depicted holding a crook and a flail.

Experts believe that the tomb complex of Osiris was used in rituals to connect the gods of the afterlife with the powerful pharaohs.
