Sue Elcock, 68 years old, just caught a “monster” fish weighing 60 kg
Last week, Sue visited her son Simon’s home in Perth, Western Australia and went fishing with him.
They set out at 5am and Mrs. Sue thought she could only catch small fish. However, when a fish took the bait, Sue felt its pull and guessed it was a medium-sized fish.
40 minutes later, Sue, Simon and other fishermen on the boat had to pull together a giant grouper up to 1m63 long, which is 5cm longer than Sue.
They cut the fish into parts and put them in the refrigerator
Sue told The Sun: “Simon is an experienced sea fisherman. I used to fish with him every time I visited here.
“The biggest fish I’ve ever caught before was a snapper about 30cm long. When this giant fish pulled the bait, I didn’t think it was that heavy.
“It took us almost an hour to pull it onto the boat. I couldn’t believe how big it was when its head emerged from the water.
“It’s as big as a sofa for two people.”
Sue added: “We cut up the fish and put it in the refrigerator. My son and daughter-in-law will be able to enjoy the fish for many months to come when I return to England.”
Sue’s son, Simon, said: “My mother caught a huge fish and I am so happy for her. The image of her holding the fish is a unique treasure.”
