The Notorious is looking in excellent shape as he prepares for a UFC return in 2024.
Conor McGregor has branded himself the “KO King” as he continues to prepare for a return to Mixed Martial Arts.
McGregor has been out of action since breaking his leg against Dustin Poirier in 2021, but this lengthy absence is due to end in 2024 when he makes his long-awaited return to the sport.
The Dubliner has been in training camp for weeks and took to social media this morning to give fans a rare inside look as he hones his knockout power.
In the video, McGregor can be seen standing in an orthodox position as he drills throwing strong right hands.
This is a far cry from McGregor’s usual southpaw stance which allows him to use his left hand for power shots and has been the key weapon for McGregor’s 19 career knockouts.
McGregor is rumoured to be facing Michael Chandler when he returns, whom he coached opposite on The Ultimate Fighter, but former rival Dustin Poirier, who has twice defeated McGregor, would be up for ending the rivalry once and for all.
“I probably would (say yes) – try to shut him up once and for all,” Poirier told Megan Olivi for ESPN during a backstage interview at UFC Fight Night 232 on Saturday.
“But even if I slap his ass around again, he’s still going to be chatting. So we’ll see.
“Is him and Chandler official? I don’t know what’s going on. But that’s a huge fight. (Our rivalry is) 2-1 against him. I don’t really see another reason for it, but it’d be a huge fight.”
