Incredible moment shows more than 20 giant crocodiles baring their sharp teeth as they compete to eat a dead cow.
The 4 meter long crocodile rushed into the cow and tore it apart.
Amateur photographer Michele Bain and her husband watched the scene unfold in crocodile-infested waters at Corroboree Billabong, southeast of Darwin (Australia).
Bain said she saw long trails in the bushes where the 4-meter-long crocodile pulled the victim into the water.
She said the cow must have been dead by the time it was pulled into the water and that its body appeared bloated as if it had drowned, with parts of it “black, slimy flesh, like the skin of a seal”.
As the huge crocodile ate the cow, more crocodiles slowly appeared.
Sharing with Daily Mail, Bain said: “There weren’t too many crocodiles when we first passed by, but when we came back, we saw about 20 crocodiles on the water.”
The Bain couple were startled when they realized many animals were lurking below the surface, waiting to eat the cow.
“Each crocodile tries to have a piece of beef and the crocodile that gets it chases the others away ,” Bain said.
Bain said the huge crocodile gritted its teeth to scare away the others and tore into the victim’s body. ” There was a lot of fighting and splashing. We’ve been going there for years and have never seen anything like it,” she said.
Crocodiles usually spend a week eating a large mammal, but photographer Bain said the cow was completely gone the next morning – less than 24 hours later.
20 crocodiles fought and tore the cow apart.
Despite being surrounded by killer crocodiles, the couple insisted that they were not afraid.
