I’m A Celeb’s Jamie Lynn Spears’ husband Jamie Watson was sued after three killed when his truck blocked major motorway

I’m A Celeb’s Jamie Lynn Spears’ husband Jamie Watson was sued after three killed when his truck blocked major motorway

While an oncoming 18-wheeler – driven by a man named Corey David – managed to stop in time, another driver Kaleb Collette was allegedly speeding in his Chevrolet Silverado pickup and ended up rear-ending David, according to the lawsuit, which has now been settled.

The horror crash resulted in the death of Collette, 28, and his passengers Lee Ross, 27, and Kenneth Parnell, 27.

Details of the crash emerged as Britney Spear’s sister Jamie Lynn, who has been married to Watson, 41, since 2014, is in the Australian jungle starring in this year’s I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

The tragedy unfolded on 11 July 2016 and, a year later, 18-wheeler driver David, who suffered physical and mental injuries, filed a lawsuit against Watson, Kaleb’s mother Melinda Collette, and the insurance companies of all involved, including the insurer of his own rental truck.

Watson’s trucking business, Fluker Transportation LLC, were also co-defendants.

In his petition, David blamed Collette, but also stated that “the collision was caused solely and by the gross and flagrant recklessness, carelessness, negligence and fault of [Jamie] Watson” and listed eight road violations including “obstructing a highway of commerce in a criminally negligent manner”.

A copy of what David described as Fluker Transportation’s policy with its insurers was filed as a court exhibit, which according to court reports, included an exclusion form signed by Watson, stating that “none of the insurance coverages afforded by this policy” shall apply to him.

It appears that being uninsured helped in getting Watson removed from the lawsuit, which was eventually settled by David’s insurers.
