A 31-year-old becomes the youngest Black attorney to open an office on Chicago’s South Side.

Attorney Shymane Robinson, founder and CEO of True Lawyer, is now the youngest Black lawyer to have a law firm office on the Southside of Chicago. At just 31-years old, she now has two offices in the city for her real estate and trademark law firm that helps transform black communities.

Her firm is also the first in the country to ever offer a Trademark Guarantee, and her goal is to help small and Black-owned businesses gain ownership of their brand and leverage their assets with real estate.

“Lawyers are often rewarded for working long hours and billing as much as they can regardless of their success rate. As a result clients often receive expensive legal bills with minimum results making it impossible for small businesses to afford legal representation,” says Shymane.

Intellectual property protections account for more than $8 trillion in economic activity, according to the USPTO. It’s imperative that small businesses have access to gain ownership of patents, trademarks, and copyrights allowing them to gain exclusive ownership and be compensated for their creative inventions and ideas helping to close the wealth gap.

As the first law firm ever to offer a Trademark Guarantee, True Lawyer understands that lack of legal representations contributes to the wealth gap. To close this wealth gap we must focus on ownership. Ownership of businesses, intellectual property, and real property. “In an effort to increase ownership and help transform communities, we guarantee if we clear a mark and it doesn’t register our office will trademark your next mark for FREE until you gain ownership of your brand,” Shymane says.

With almost four years under her belt as the leader of True Lawyer law firm, Shymane has grown a widely successful national law firm that focuses on transforming communities by helping small businesses gain ownership of their brand and leverage their assets with real estate.

In honor of Women’s Small Business month, True Lawyer law firm has made the official announcement to giveaway (4) Free Federal Trademark Applications; a value of over $1,200 each to help women-owned businesses protect their brand. One winner will be announced every Thursday starting October 7, 2021. Please visit the company’s Instagram account @TrueLawyer_ for more information. Some restrictions apply.
