While so many terrible things happen in the world, there is always something truly positive happening. This is the heartwarming story about oil rig workers rescued a stranded dog after finding him in the middle of the sea over 130 miles away from the shores of Thailand.
A few days ago, workers aboard an oil rig were stunned to see a poor dog swimming next to their drilling station. One of the employees, Vitisak Payalaw, quickly took his camera and captured what he saw. Other workers tried to think of ways to rescue him and finally, they decided to tie a rope around him and pull him in.
‘If the waves had been strong, we wouldn’t have seen him. Finally, we decided to tie a rope around his neck and pull him to our site. We had to race against time as wind waves might sweep him away”, Payalaw said.
This poor dog received a second chance in life, even when it seemed that everything was lost. According to Payalaw, when the dog was clinging to the pole, he was absolutely exhausted. He was 130 miles away from the shore making it nearly impossible for him to survive, and yet somehow he did.
People guess that the dog might have fallen into the sea from a fishing trawler or jumped out of a vessel where he suffered abuse. The puppy spent two days on the drilling platform, receiving food and water from the crew before backing to land. He even has a new name “Boonrod” which in Thai means “making a spiritual donation for good luck in the future.”
After returning to land, he was brought to a veterinarian in Songkhla, southern Thailand where they will do tests to check if everything is fine with his health. Thankfully, despite being found in the ocean, he was in surprisingly good health. One of the oil rig workers says he would like to adopt him if no one comes forward to claim him. “I hope to adopt him as a pet,” Vitisak told ViralPress. “I am looking forward to spending many happy years together with him.”
Many people call this story as a miracle and it quickly went viral. Despite many people offering their help, Vitisak has declared he will not be accepting any donations. Check out the video of the moment workers noticed the puppy.
